Annie McKee

Annie is a social researcher in land management at the James Hutton Institute, Aberdeen (formerly the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute), having joined the Institute in October 2010. She completed her PhD research within the ‘Sustainable Estates for the 21st Century’ project run by the Centre for Mountain Studies, specifically focussing on private landownership and community engagement. Annie has a Masters in Sustainable Rural Development from the University of Aberdeen and a BSc in Geography from the University of St Andrews. Her research interests include rural governance, agricultural and land use policy, the impact of land reform, rural community development and achieving sustainable development in rural areas. Annie is the vice-convenor of Rural Housing Scotland, and is easily distracted by community activities at home in Tarland, Aberdeenshire.
