The overall aim of this project is to examine the literature and evidence related to value of water resources to inform the implementation of the duty in the Bill. It must examine the value of water resources in a Scottish context both in quantitative and qualitative terms.

- methodologies for estimating the value of water resources
- review of estimates in the literature on quantitative and qualitative value of water resources in different uses
- case studies of the value of water resources in Scotland
- the above put in the context of the Water Resources (Scotland) Bill
- an assessment of gaps in the knowledge and the incorporation of values into water resources management
